*Simple sentence:
1-subject and verb

2-Subject+verb+object

*compound sentences:
A compound sentence has two or more clauses joined by coordinating conjunctions: and, but, or, neither=nor, either=or………
EX1: it wasn t cold but I was shivering//he slept and I read
EX2: he neither speaks English nor understands it.
EX3: you can either go with us or stay home alone.
*complex sentences:
we create complex sentences by joining two or more clauses with subordinating conjunctions such as: because, that, which, if, although, as, in order that, since….
EX: I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about all the work.
EX2: I have to finish my work in order that I can leave.
EX3: I hate the job which you are doing. (In order to avoid meaningless repetition).
EX4: he had worked hard for so many years in order that he could have a better life.
*complex-compound sentences: we form compound-complex
sentences with three or more clauses joined by both coordinating and subordinating conjunctions.
EX: I was so relieved that no one else was hurt, but I hoped the driver would survive. (Relieved=feel better or comfortable).

*Transitive verbs:
We use a transitive verb to describe an action that affects an object.
EX: i was eating a pizza.
*intransitive verbs:
Intransitive verbs are used without an object.
EX: the cat was playing.
