Vocabulary : Adventure - Convention - Inconvenient - Prevent - Intervene - Eventually

Meriem wanted to
go on an adventure
So she decided to go to a comic book
convention But the driving there is inconvenient ,
so she took the subway .As she sat down people began
to argue about the hero , to prevent a fight She intervened and eventually everyone agreed that the best hero is batman .

vent / veni means come
  1. Adventure  : as we noticed before that vent means to come so we’ll point out what does the prefix ad mean.
AD= toward .  That’s adventure means to come to something , (in this context when I say I want an adventure means that I want to come to something  to make life better or exciting) .
  1. Convention:  con means  with / together.
Convention means a place where people come together.
  1. Inconvenient :  The prefix  in has a couple of meanings : in / opposite
Inconvenient  = it is going to be more difficult or makes life harder.
Ex: If I have to go to work it is inconvenient to go walking it takes 3 hours. ( so I should take a car that takes 20 or 30 minutes.)
  1. Prevent  = pre means before      / vent means come  ( to come before)
If you want to prevent a fire you shall put oil and  fire together .
  1. Intervene =  inter means  between     ( it means to come between).
Ex : if you find Meriem and Seif quarreled you can intervene .
  1. Eventually:   E ( which is basically ex ) = out of  . so it refers to come out of a situation
Ex: When you eat a big quantity of chocolate, you’ll eventually be fat.
If you don’t read enough books in English , you’ll eventually be out of blue.
